Pay Log Guide

What to record after each substitute assignment.

A consistent personal record makes it easier to compare expected pay with future paychecks.

Core Fields

Record the assignment date, district, school if known, role or title, pay unit, rate, quantity, expected pay, and any notes that explain the workday.

Why District Matters

Substitute teachers often work across districts with different rates and pay-period schedules. Keeping records separated by district reduces confusion when a paycheck covers only part of the work you remember.

Keep the Record Personal

Your pay log is evidence for your own follow-up, not an official payroll source. SubPay Log does not submit records to a district and does not replace district payroll systems.
